TREK! Devil’s Due

I was SO impressed with the costumes in this episode and rightly so because it was nominated for an Emmy for costume design!
As the wiki tells me this story was salvaged from a story originally written for Star Trek Phase 2, which would have been a follow up to the original series in 1977. However, they totally shit the bed on that series because Parmamount was all “HOLY SHIT look at Star Wars, just LOOK at it! We are making a movie instead you guys.”

I’m not alone! Someone else knows about Star Trek: Phase II, and I am shocked!

Devil’s Due is one of a few TNG stories that came about from the big Writer’s Strike in season two when the producers scrambled for scripts to recycle.

Great comic today.

Of total and awesome relevance, I attend Huddersfield University here in the UK and Patrick Stewart is our chancellor(seriously, check it: http://www2.hud.ac.uk/studying_here/index.php.
He’s from Hudd himself so aside from being our chancellor he supports the local rugby team, Huddersfield Giants, he did the Christmas light switch on last year and he’s at the graduation ceremony to hand shit out. The most awesome part of all this, when he was having a tour of the uni, which I was totally unaware of, and he ended up in the same cafe as me sat only a few metres away. *squeal* I was brought up by a massive trekky in the form of my dad so this was very exciting for me. Hell, I remember my dad dragging me to the cinema to see First Contact whilst horribly ill, aged 6 at the time.
