I think it was very considerate of the robot maker to give chester feeling in his nether regions.

just because it has facial expressions doesn’t mean it can feel
it’s probably observing through its cameras and making the proper faces

I think it’s not so much the expressions as that he woke up to her touching him that signal ability to feel.

That just means that he has sensors. He can detect touch, but that doesn’t mean that he can really FEEL, especially not we’re implying.
(Of course, I’m new to the comic, so I guess I’ll find out as I keep reading.)
