He’s getting quite a bad wrap. He’s a busy guy, and he wants his wife to stay happy. That’s why Chester got built in the first place, remember. I mean, science in the 1800′s was not an easy thing.

I think it’s more that she doesn’t want her husband to realise what must be obvious to her right now – that she is in love with Chester.
Plus, y’know, doing it right out in front of him would be rude.
